500 million straws are released into the ocean everyday. We put 182,500,000,000,000 straws into the ocean every year.
ReplyDelete500,000,000 x 365 = 182,500,000,000,000. (6.20x10^23)/182,500,000,000,000 =3,298,630,137 years to make one mole of straws in the ocean.
Having any sort of plastic in the ocean is scary. These numbers make it a bit scarier in my opinion. -Kit R.
Delete6.02e+23 x 17.78 cm = 1.070356e+25 cm of colored pencils
ReplyDelete1.070356e+25 cm converted into km is: 1.070356e+20 km
The distance to Pluto is 7.5 billion kilometers. The distance to and from Pluto is 15000000000 km. How many times can the amount of 1.070356e+20 km stretch to and from Pluto?
1.070356e+20/15000000000= 7135706666.67
One mole of the length of colored pencils would make a trip to and from Pluto 7135706666.67 times.
